As a Jew, as an American and as someone with an I.Q. beyond many of those you listed, I was personally offended by your apology.

To ask forgiveness for anything from an anti-Semite, from someone who provides a venue to a virulent anti-Semite and to a political candidate who practices the most fundamental of Christian theology and associates with anti-Israel preachers on many occasions is beyond the pale of reason. While I will not spend too much time in composing a response to your hate-filled, reactionary and canard filled essay, I will say that it is unfortunate that you count yourself among the Jewish Community. Self-hating Jews that have “drunk the kool-aid” of the far right wing of the Republican Party are more dangerous than an Arab with a gun in a group of Jews; at least everyone knows that individual’s true intentions.

I take some comfort in knowing that the mainstream Jewish community has marginalized you.

Dear Mr. Kessler:  I wonder if you can or dare to support the accusations that you make in your email to me?  Seeing as you believe yourself to have a high I.Q., I challenge you to try.

Let me be specific.  First, I ask you to cite the sentence, paragraphs or words in my column that are "hate-filled," and please don't insult both of our intelligence by saying the entire column collectively overflows with hate.

Am I the self-hating Jew or is Marc Stanley, a man who makes excuses for Hamas and its aspirations to kill all Israeli Jews?

Am I Ahmadinejad?  Do I call on the world to wipe Israel off the map?  That is hate speech.  Did I sit at a dinner with Rashid Khalidi and stay mum while speaker after speaker praised him and his Jew-hating ideals?  Did I make up President-elect Obama's associations with Rashid and Mona Khalidi, with Reverend Jeremiah Wright, with terrorist Bill Ayers?

Am I a self-hating Jew?  Or are you a narrow-minded hater of fundamentalist Christians, including Sarah Palin?  Out of curiosity, do you also hate fundamentalist Muslims of the Hamas-Hezbollah variety or do you see them as oppressed people with legitimate grievance against the Zionists and hence pardon their making victims out of innocent Yeshiva students and a Rabbi and his pregnant wife at a Chabad house in Mumbai?  That, to me, is the definition of a self-hating Jew.

Do you know your history, sir?  Who were the self-hating Jews in the 1930s, those who spoke out against the dangers of the Nazis or those who said, pooh, pooh, the Nazis are just blowing smoke?  Little did we know that the smoke would become the ash of six millions of our brothers and sisters and many millions more non-Jewish children of G-d?

What, pray tell, is the difference between the dangers Adolph Hitler represented in the 1930s and the dangers Ahmadinejad presents today?  Is Barack Obama a Nevelle Chamberlain or is he Winston Churchill?  (If you don't know who they are, try Wikipedia.com.)  His record suggests that he and Nevelle would see eye-to-eye.

Finally, let me ask you to rationally try and explain what you mean when you state that I am "more dangerous than an Arab with a gun in a group of Jews; at least everyone knows that individual's true intentions."  For real?

I invite you to spend a Shabbos at my home after you've spent a Shabbos with your Arab friends in Gaza.  Only then you can make a fair comparison.

If you take some comfort in the thought that the mainstream Jewish community has marginalized me, I'm sure you would absolutely delight if I'd shut up and let you and Marc Stanley represent 100% of American Jews.  Alas, you'll have to seek your comfort elsewhere.

If you will respond to me, I will publish your response unedited.  If you don't, we'll both know who is the hate-filled, reactionary, won't we?

DEAN

Right on, Dean! Don't allow these dim-witted 'Jews' to silence you. They refuse to learn from the mistakes of the past or the dangers of the present and future. This Kessler guy writes a good 'spiel' with inaccurate and profane statements. How sad that people cannot see the danger they are promoting.

What is so scary is that Paul S. Kessler (I do assume that is his real name) is one of dozens of Jewish readers who see my strong defense of Israel as hate-filled and accuse me of being a Kool-aid drinker. Yet he and they betray their own hate and blind worship in their very attacks on me and others like me.

I believe the minority of us who are not lost in the intellectual desert must work together to find a solution. Paul Kessler won't change his mind based on anything I write. If anything, I realize he will only dig his heels in deeper in response to my calling him to account.

If anyone has an idea how to win back the Paul S. Kesslers of the world, please comment here or email me privately. While Paul would gladly feed me to the sharks, I'd like to save his soul -- and maybe even his life.

Thanks for your comments - DEAN

    Shalom Dean,
I could not agree with you more, but please allow me to assist in putting things in perspective. I served in the US Army for 21 years in the Infantry. I have served with liberals, Evangelical Christians, and people who could care less about religion and Israel.
I have heard it all from the gentiles. I have heard not only statements but arguments from all of them almost to the point of fist fights over Israel between the liberal gentiles (they are ALL radicals and extremists) and the Evangelical Christians (they are radical, but not quite extreme and certainly not anti-semites. Ever heard of the old saying that some goys give all good goyim a bad name? I think that it is obvious who the real goys are, but let me attempt to show some evidence.
The people who would not only have a profile but behave like Nevelle Chamberlain, as you state, are the liberal gentiles and those gentiles who could care less about religion and Israel. These two groups had radical anti-semitic beliefs and sayings.
However, Evangelical Christians are a much different breed of gentiles so much so that it calls for a "sign and wonder" in the biblical sense. While they may make some statements that may sound anti-semitic, their heart, actions, and behavior state otherwise. So much so, I attempted to make sure that I was surrounded by Evangelical Christians when working in garrison, in the field, and so on. My Chain of Command kept asking me why I did this. It boiled down to character as far as the Army was concerned, but it actually made my job a whole lot easier when I learned to discern who my friends really were.
Please note that most of the US Army and I think most of the US Military is flled with Evangelical Christians. There is a rumor floating around the whole US Military about Mr. BO. To put it simply, many members are extremely concerned about the what if. What if Mr. BO gives the Order to fire on Israel. You can take this to the bank regardless of how it may sound. I would fully expect that the US Military would do something that has never been done before. I would expect there to be a major breakdown in the Chain of Command.
I do not think that the Evangelical Christians of today are stupid enough to poke Hashem in the Apple of His Eye. While they are not perfect and I certainly do not agree with their religious beliefs, there is something about them that prevented me from calling them a goy, but a liberal I did on many occasions.
Call the Evangelical Christians what you will, but the Evangelical Christians are not anti-semites. Rabbi Eckstein in Chicago, Illinois works with them in his Organization. Prime Minister Netanyahu once called Evangelical Christians friends of the heart. Why are Israeli Jews calling Evangelical Christians friends and American Jews calling them Anti-Semites. Please enter boot disk! It does not make sense! Shalom shalom to you and all of Israel!
